There was a time when there was only one government telecom company in the country – BSNL. Then time changed and gradually Reliance, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Aircel, Tata Indicom, Docomo, Telenor etc came in the market. After 2G came the era of 3G and now going ahead of 4G we are in the era of 5G. In the midst of market competition, a change came that many telecom companies were limited and now mainly only three companies are providing services. But the question is, who is the king of the market?
According to the September quarter report that has come out, Jio has added 77 lakh customers. Airtel has also managed to add 4.9 lakh customers, while VI ie Vodafone Idea has lost 60 lakh customers.
Even in terms of earning per user, companies are slightly ahead of each other. Airtel has proved to be the king here with earning of RS 190/Customer. Jio is at number two with earning of Rs 177/Customer, while Vodafone Idea is at number three with earning of RS 131/Customer.
Talking about the market share, the figures in June, July and August are something like this. Jio’s share has been around 36 per cent, Airtel’s close to 31 per cent, while Vodafone-Idea is also behind here.
According to the report, the condition of Vodafone-Idea is going critical for the last few quarters. In just 3 quarters i.e. 18 months, VI has lost 21 million users. At the same time, the loss of the company has increased to Rs 7595 crore.
